Who Are We?

Design Acoustics Ltd was established by Tony Windner (BArch) in Tauranga 2003. Tony has over 14 years experience as an acoustic consultant in New Zealand, the USA and the UK.

Peter Horne (BEng) recently returned from the United States to establish Design Acoustics Auckland Ltd. He has over 10 years experience as an acoustic consultant in New Zealand and the USA.

Welcome to the Design Acoustics web site. Design Acoustics specialises in providing acoustical design services to design professionals and other clients. We aim to provide innovative, timely and cost-effective advice to help ensure the success of your next project.

We enjoy the design process and working with other design professionals. We are active members of the design team, proposing options for acoustical control which achieve aesthetic and other requirements. We recommend that we be involved at an early stage to help integrate acoustical requirements with other aesthetic and functional considerations.

Design Acoustics offers advice in;

room acoustics - acoustics of the interior of a room, e.g. theatres, concert halls
sound isolation - reducing sound transmission between spaces, e.g. apartments, offices
mechanical noise control - reducing noise from machinery, e.g. HVAC, transformers, factory plant
environmental noise - outdoor noise affecting neighbours and compliance with noise regulations
